International Conference on Ensuring the Safe Operation of Buildings and Unique Structures Held at Satbayev University

On April 10–11, 2025, the T.K. Bassenov Institute of Architecture and Civil Engineering and the Geology and Oil-gas Business Institute named after K. Turyssov of Satbayev University,
in collaboration with the R&D Centre StaDyO and the Scientific and Production Center of GPR Technologies (Moscow), hosted the International Scientific and Practical Conference titled “Current Issues in Ensuring the Safe Operation of Buildings, Structures, and Unique Facilities”
The event took place on the premises of Satbayev University as part of the broader Satbayev International Conference 2025 (Satbayev Readings – 2025), themed “Artificial Intelligence in Engineering and Industrial Systems: Solutions for Optimization and Automation”.
The main objective of the event was to foster scientific dialogue and strengthen cooperation among professionals and researchers from different countries, as well as to support engineering and construction education and practice-oriented scientific developments. One of the key outcomes of the conference was the establishment of an expert platform that integrates science, practice, and education in the field of engineering safety for buildings and structures.
The invited participants included specialists in building and foundation operation, technical condition monitoring, and scientific support at all stages of the construction lifecycle—from design to operation. The conference brought together geologists, seismologists, structural engineers, designers, and representatives of engineering services from Kazakhstan, Russia, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Serbia, China, India, and Hong Kong.
The conference program featured a plenary session and three thematic sections, where scientific reports, research cases, and advanced practices were presented. Particular attention was drawn to scientific-technical and applied workshops organized by leading Russian companies and research centers, including JSC Research Center StaDyO, the A.B. Zolotov Scientific and Educational Center for Computer Modeling (NIU MGSU), LLP “GeoKurs”, SPC GEOTECH, Federal State Institution Rosgeolfund, and JSC NIPII “Lenmetrogiprotrans”.
Key speakers included: Alexander Belostotsky, Mirken Abakanov, Kirill Dorokhin, Murat Kasenov, Saniya Beysenbayeva, Luo Xiaowei, Nurbold Darikulov, Maksim Shirobokov, Maksim Gavrilyuk, Aleksei Bondarenko, Zhmagul Nuguzhinov, Semyon Sorokin, Anara Tleulesova, Medetkhan Zapparov, Tatyana Ivankova, Kuandyk Lesov, Nurmamed Mamedov, Mohammad Arif Kamal, Marko Marinkovic, Kim Kwang Don, Mukhametali Kenzhaliev, Saule Dastanova, Erik Besimbaev, Asem Kaipova, Anar Tanirbergenova, Aigul Zhangabylova, Zhuldiz Baikhodzhaeva, Saken Kystaubaev, and Saulet Shayakhmetov.
Special emphasis during the event was placed on the participation of representatives of operating organizations, who shared practical experience and highlighted the most pressing and urgent issues in the industry. At the end of the conference, a resolution summarizing the key conclusions and recommendations was prepared and adopted.
The conference at Satbayev University generated significant interest among students, young researchers, as well as members of the academic and professional engineering community. It contributed to strengthening international collaboration in the areas of engineering safety, sustainable construction, and monitoring of existing buildings and structures.
