Satbayev University Among the Winners of the Final of the “Archfest2025” Competition

On April 29, 2025, the final of the open International architectural competition "Archfest-2025" took place on the square in front of the building of the Caspian University, bringing together students, architects and teachers from various cities and universities of Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan.

The competition was organized by the Caspian University with the support of the KAZGOR Design Academy and the AU-Studio architectural bureau.

The competition was held in two stages. In the first stage, participants developed concepts and models of small architectural forms using only corrugated cardboard.

The competition requirement was not only to create an expressive architectural image, but also to implement all structural connections from the same material – without the use of glue or other fixing elements.

Following the selection round, the best teams were given the opportunity to implement their projects on a 1:1 scale directly on the city square, in the historical center of Almaty - in front of the building of the former Republican House of Political Education, where the Caspian University is located today.

The works were assessed by an authoritative jury, which included prominent representatives of the architectural community.

According to the results of the final stage, the first place was won by a team of 3rd-year students of the architectural direction of Satbayev University under the leadership of Tolep Almas Yerboluly. The project was distinguished by both an expressive spatial composition and high quality of execution in life-size.

Third place also went to Satbayev University, which was taken by 4th-year students under the guidance of Vladimir Vladimirovich Yaskevich.
