Satbayev University Discussed Prospects for Urban Electric Transport Development in Kazakhstan

Satbayev University hosted a roundtable discussion titled "Prospects for Urban Electric Transport and Charging Infrastructure Development in Kazakhstan," organized by the School of Transport Engineering and Logistics with the support of the Union of Transport Workers of Kazakhstan (KAZLOGISTICS). Representatives from government agencies, academia, business, and public organizations participated in the discussion.

Participants discussed the current state of the electric transport market, government support measures, barriers to charging infrastructure development, and Almaty's experience implementing public-private partnership projects. Particular attention was paid to the prospects for implementing driverless routes and intelligent transport systems. The roundtable's topics are directly related to the UN Sustainable Development Goals, including reducing carbon emissions and developing sustainable urban infrastructure.

Following the event, a decision was made to support Satbayev University's initiative to create a scientific and practical platform for research in the field of electric transport and to recommend that government agencies and businesses strengthen cooperation in developing charging stations and localizing their production. Participants also proposed expanding educational programs in the field of smart infrastructure and preparing a collection of roundtable materials for future use by industry organizations.

The roundtable marked a significant step in strengthening the partnership between government, science, and business in promoting environmentally friendly and technologically advanced transport in Kazakhstan.
