Satbayev University experts participated in the international expert session on sustainable development
On April 3, 2025, an expert session on "(Un)certainty of sustainable development" was held at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University within the framework of SCO International Forum. The event brought together representatives of more than 200 universities, business circles and government agencies of SCO countries, becoming a key platform for discussing the strategies for sustainable development, decarbonization and adaptation to climate change. The session was held within the framework of SCO Year of Sustainable Development, announced by the decision of Council of State Heads.
Nazym Maratovna Zhunusbekova, PhD, associate professor, deputy director of Project Management Institute, represented Satbayev University at the session. In her speech, Nazym Maratovna focused on the need to integrate the academic and business sectors, introduce a project-based approach to solving climate problems and train qualified specialists in ESG and "green" economy sphere. She also stressed the importance of international cooperation between universities within the framework of SCO platform for exchanging experience, knowledge and innovations.
Satbayev University's participation in the event confirmed its active position and leading role in promoting the sustainable agenda, training new personnel and elaborating the solutions for an environmentally oriented future of Kazakhstan and SCO region as a whole.
