Satbayev University held a seminar for Baku State University on integrating SDGs into university strategy

On April 10, 2025, the Sustainable Development Project Office of Satbayev University held an online seminar for representatives of Baku State University (Azerbaijan) on the topic: “Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in the DNA of Universities.”

During the seminar, participants engaged in a productive exchange of experiences. Satbayev University presented its comprehensive model for integrating SDGs into key university processes, including education, research, administration, and student engagement.

Special focus was placed on practical tools:

  • Business Process Reengineering Lab,
  • SU Solutions App for submitting and evaluating sustainable ideas,
  • SDG Project Portfolio and internal competitions for sustainable engineering solutions.

The discussion covered approaches to developing sustainability thinking among students and faculty, showcased successful student-led and research-based initiatives in ecology and energy, and addressed the importance of climate strategy and carbon footprint reduction at universities.

  • Representatives of Baku State University praised Satbayev University’s systemic approach and expressed interest in further collaboration in:
  • Joint educational and research projects,
  • Exchange of experience and SDG implementation methodologies,
  • Participation in international SDG-focused initiatives and rankings.

Events like this highlight Satbayev University’s commitment not only to integrating the SDGs internally but also to sharing solutions with regional institutions and building a strong academic SDG coalition across Central Asia and the Caucasus.
