Satbayev University hosted a workshop that helps to successfully adapt to the world of uncertainty

New teaching methods are one of the subjects of interest for Satbayev University’s teachers and students. To explore new educational approaches, the university hosted a workshop by British professor Marcelo Starikoff titled "The Joy of Not Knowing and Why it's so good not to know!" The speaker presented an innovative approach that helps students and teachers develop flexibility of thinking and adapt more successfully in the world of uncertainty.
"Throughout my work in education, I have been interested in the question: how to make students not just study subjects, but feel joy from the very process of learning?” – Marcello told me. “The experience of scientists who feel very comfortable in the situation of uncertainty, difficulty, and challenge has helped me. This way of thinking is unique, and bringing it to education is incredibly exciting."
Marcello Starikoff is a professor at University of Sussex, the author of “The Joy of Not Knowing”, consultant to UNICEF and researcher of educational systems. His method is based on creating the learning environment in which students not only gain knowledge, but also learn to think critically, consider different points of view, and develop a research spirit in students that will become the basis for their success in life.
Satbayev University continues to attract the expertise of international experts, preparing the students for the modern world challenges. The workshop became part of an initiative aimed at developing creative thinking and adaptability among future specialists.
