Satbayev University is strengthening the collaboration with Chinese colleagues in the transport engineering sphere

A meeting of representatives of M. Tynyshpayev Transport Engineering and Logistics School and Xi'an Railway Vocational Technical Institute (PRC) was held at Satbayev University. Colleagues from the two countries met to discuss the prospects for joint work on evolving the Kazakhstan-China high-speed rail transport.

Lin Hui, head of Traction and Energy Institute, and Shi Ge, a lecturer, spoke about high-speed rail transport in China, a world leader in advancing and implementing the high-speed railways. Over the past twenty years, the largest high-speed network in the world has been built in this country and advanced technologies such as magnetic levitation trains continue to be introduced.

In line with Kazakhstani experts, due to the fact that Kazakhstan is one of the logistics hubs of Eurasia connecting China with Europe, the development of high-speed multimodal transport here is very promising. As part of the work on the given task, the cooperation memorandum between Kazakhstan Railways and PRC Ministry of Railways was signed in Beijing in February 2011.

After the presentations, a round table was held where issues of personnel training, academic exchange of teachers and students, as well as cooperation in education sphere in "Logistics" and "Transport Engineering" degree programs were discussed. Special attention was paid to the promotion of “Qinling Workshop” project and negotiations on creating the training base for transport and logistics in both countries within the framework of the international “One zone – one road” initiative.

Round table was an important step in strengthening Satbayev University's international cooperation in the field of transport engineering and logistics. Such initiatives will allow Satbayev University to make a significant contribution to modernizing the Kazakhstan's transport infrastructure and training of specialists marketable in the dynamically changing logistics landscape of Eurasia.
