From ideas to measurable results: Satbayev University has outlined guidelines for young scientists
At Satbayev University, Rector Meiram Begentayev and Vice-rector for Science and Corporate Development Yerzhan Kuldeyev met with scientists, institutes’ directors, chairmen of dissertation councils, departments’ heads and doctoral students of the university to discuss topical issues of scientific work and doctoral dissertations.
Opening the meeting, Meiram Begentayev stressed that scientific activity should become the driving force of the university, capable of forming a new generation of researchers and engineers who can generate valuable scientific results and transform them into real innovations for economic sectors. He noted that it is not formal indicators that are fundamentally important for the university and the country, but measurable and meaningful results that build trust in science and determine its real contribution to Kazakhstan’s economy growth.
Yerzhan Kuldeyev made a presentation, outlining the priorities of the university's scientific policy, requirements for publication activity and academic integrity. He was joined by Zhanar Zhumadilova, director of Department for support of scientific projects and postgraduate education, who explained in detail the regulatory requirements for preparing and defending the dissertations, the criteria for selecting scientific supervisors, and the procedure for completing the foreign scientific internships.
The meeting ended with the question and answer session. During the dialogue, it was noted that initiative and willingness to take responsibility are becoming the main mechanism for turning the ideas of young scientists into sought-after results that are significant for the university, economic sectors and the country as a whole.
