Minister of RK Science and Higher Education got acquainted with the progress of work on creating the production of innovative building materials

RK Science and Higher Education Minister Sayassat Nurbek paid a working visit to Satbayev University and got acquainted with the construction of a plant for producing dry building mixes, which the university is building as part of the STROYTECH techno-park.
Construction of the given plant is carried out within the framework of "Integrated development of the sustainable construction industry" project. The future company will become part of STROYTECH techno-park and will produce dry building mixes, tiles, plaster, and other building materials. All of them will be adapted to Kazakhstan’s climate and modern construction requirements thanks to technologies elaborated at Satbayev University.
The project, launched two years ago on behalf of State’s Head, has already brought the first tangible results: scientific technologies have been developed, the first contracts for the supply of building mixes have been signed, and three spin-off companies have been created. They will implement the scientific research results into industrial production. If the project is successfully implemented, its mechanisms will be scaled up as an example of successful integration of science, education, business and the state.
Constructing the technological park and the plant has been planned to be completed by the end of 2025, and production will start in 2026. The total production volume is expected to reach 12.6 thousand tons of building mixes per year. At the same time, STROYTECH techno-park will become a platform for joint scientific research in the field of developing the new materials and training specialists for the construction industry.
Minister also visited Experimental Metallurgical Production Facility at Satbayev University Metallurgy and Enrichment Institute, where he got acquainted with the work of key scientific and technological sites where advanced solutions in the field of composite materials and processing of rare and non-ferrous metals are being developed. Special attention was paid to the project to establish an international scientific center in partnership with Republic of Korea.
Satbayev University consistently implements the principle of collaboration between science and industry, turning laboratory elaborations into full-fledged production projects and forming a new industrial ecosystem capable of changing the future of Kazakhstan's industry.
