Satbayev University celebrated Newlyweds' Day, a celebration of family values

Satbayev University hosted an unusual and touching celebration - Newlyweds' Day, dedicated to love, mutual understanding and the preservation of family traditions.
The date was not chosen by chance: exactly 55 years ago, on October 10, 1970, in the dormitory of Kazakh Polytechnic Institute (now Satbayev University), the legendary song "Toi Zhyry" was born - a real pearl of Kazakh musical culture, which became the anthem of all the newlyweds of the country.
Based on the memoirs of “Dos Mukasan” ensemble’s members, on that day, two hours before Murat Kussainov's wedding, his friends Dossym Suleyev and Ulykpan Sydykov composed the song right in the walls of the student dormitory #1 (now “Dos-Mukasan uyasy”). At the wedding celebration, they performed it for the first time to the guitar - and from that moment on, "Toi Zhyry" sounded in thousands of homes, becoming a symbol of love, fidelity and family happiness.
Today, half a century later, a new generation of Satbayev University students has decided to revive this tradition by declaring October 10 as Satbayev University Newlyweds’ Day.
"We want young people not only to keep up with the times, but also to remember that love, patience and mutual understanding are the foundation of a strong family," the holiday organizers noted.
A special moment of this day was the wedding ceremony of several couples who decided to start a family at the university, and Daryn Zholshybek, a student at Asfendiyarov University, proposed to his girlfriend. To the sounds of live music and the applause of friends, the cherished "Yes" sounded and a new life began where "Toi Zhyry" legend once began.
