Satbayev University has combined science of the past and technology of the future on Science Day

On April 12, on Day of Science, Satbayev University became the center of scientific life in the country. University combined the legacy of Kazakh science, modern technologies and the international scientific community on one platform.

The festive day began with the solemn laying of flowers at the monument to K. I. Satbayev. Science Day in Kazakhstan is celebrated on Kanysh Satbayev's birthday, in honor of his achievements. A significant event was the presence at the ceremony of the granddaughter of Academician - Professor Alima Kaniyevna Zharmagambetova.

The key event was the launch of "Artificial Intelligence in Engineering and Production Systems" international scientific conference, which brought together scientists from Kazakhstan, the USA, Germany, Poland, Russia and other countries. Minister of RK Science and Higher Education, Sayassat Nurbek, delivered a welcoming speech, noting the importance of transforming the scientific developments into practical products and services:

"At Satbayev University, they don't just follow trends - here developments quickly reach production and bring real benefits to the economy," Minister stressed.

A landmark moment of the conference was the presentation of the updated 10-volume collection of works by Academician Kanysh Satbayev. Satbayev University team presented the results of many years of work to preserve and systematize the scientific heritage of the outstanding scientist.

"The given collection is a cross-section of the key stages of evolving the national science and a symbol of continuity. But in order for science to really bring results, we must not only preserve the heritage, but also create modern solutions that go beyond laboratories," said Satbayev University’s Rector Meiram Begentayev in his speech.

On this day, University also presented a number of new infrastructural and innovative initiatives. These include the opening of International Research Center for advanced functional materials and their composites, and launching the new laboratories in the fields of geology, construction, Nano- and biotechnologies.

Special attention was paid to the growth of applied science: within the framework of the event, memoranda on creating the 12 spin-off companies were signed. These are small innovative enterprises, the purpose of which is the rapid implementation of scientific developments in industry. The given approach fully corresponds to the task outlined by RK President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev:

"For the progressive development of science, it is necessary to consolidate the efforts of the state and business, universities and research centers," State’s Head said at the meeting with national scientists held on the eve of Science Day.

Celebration of Science Day also included a solemn meeting of Aksakaldar Alkassy, Council of Elders, which emphasized the importance of generational continuity in science.

Satbayev University Science Day has become a large-scale platform for dialogue between science, education and industry, strengthening the international ties and confirming Satbayev University's status as one of the country's leading scientific and technological centers.
