Satbayev University hosted a round table dedicated to State President’s speech at the National Kurultai this year

On March 31, 2025, Social Sciences Department at Satbayev University organized "Technical personnel of the future: competencies and trends" round table. The discussion was devoted to the speech of State’s Head Kassym-Jomart Tokayev at the fourth meeting of the National Kurultai, held in Burabai in March this year.

Summing up the socio-political reforms implemented as part of the March 2022 Address, President stopped in detail on the innovative development of the country's economy and said:

"I think Kazakhstan has huge opportunities in at least four areas. In particular, in the field of digitalization and artificial intelligence, transportation, energy, and the agro-industrial complex, we can not only provide for our country, but also exert influence on the regional and even global scale. Human capital can also be added to this list."

Shyndaul Nugmanov, Deputy Director for Educative Work at E.Turkebayev Institute of Project Management, Bolat Kabdushev, Head of Social Sciences Department at Gumarbek Daukeyev Almaty University of Energy and Communications, Dossaly Salkynbek, Professor at Satbayev University, and Yermakhan Kalmyrzayev, senior lecturer, took the floor at the round table.

Discussing the President's speech, Satbayev University scientists exchanged thoughts on trends in the training of future technical personnel and the necessary ones for this.

Experts noted that in modern conditions, the key competencies of technical specialists are not only narrow-profile knowledge, but also an interdisciplinary approach, digital skills, critical thinking and creativity.

Following the results of the round table, the participants came to the conclusion that universities need to work closely with industrial partners in order to meet modern labor market requirements. To this end, Satbayev University actively cooperates with leading technology companies, giving students the opportunity to complete internships and gain practical experience in real conditions.

At the end of the meeting, the moderator, senior lecturer of Social Sciences Department Tumabayev Turlybek Salimovich thanked the speakers on behalf of the university and presented memorable gifts.
