A story that gives us inspiration: the grand opening of the auditorium named after Zheksenbek Adilov took place at Satbayev University

The grand opening of the auditorium named after academician, professor, doctor of technical sciences Zheksenbek Adilov took place at Satbayev University. The new educational space has become a symbol of respect for the scientific heritage of the outstanding scientist and recognition of his contribution to the science and higher education growth in Kazakhstan.

Professor, academician Zheksenbek Adilov (1949-2025) entered the history of Satbayev University as an outstanding scientist and organizer of higher education, who laid the foundations of the modern model of a technical university. For seven years, he headed Kazakh National Technical University named after K. I. Satpayev, paying special attention to modernizing the degree programs, to evolving the scientific schools and international cooperation. He became the author of more than two hundred scientific and educational works and trained several generations of scientists. His contribution to science and education was widely recognized in the scientific and academic community and was granted awards, including the “Kurmet” medal.

During the inaugural ceremony, Satbayev University’s Rector Meiram Begentayev noted that with the participation of the academician, credit technology education principles were laid at Satbayev University, as well as the first steps were taken in the sustainable development and sustainable construction sphere. Rector stressed that many of the initiatives implemented in those years were ahead of their time and still remain the foundation of University's academic policy and strategic development.

The opening ceremony was attended by university partners, representatives of the scientific community, members of Aksakaldar Alkassy, former colleagues and students of Zheksenbek Makeyevich, as well as his wife Zhamilya Nurmatovna Aitzhanova. Congratulating the audience on the auditorium opening, prominent statesman and public figure, former Minister of RK Education and Science, deputy Bakytzhan Zhumagulov noted that Zheksenbek Adilov went down in history as the great Rector of the national university:

“Being a university rector," he said in his speech, "is not a job, but rather a destiny. This is a responsibility for thousands of people, for our country’s future, and Zhexenbek Makeyevich carried this fate high and prideful, and I am proud that such a person headed the first technical university in our country.

Concluding the event, the participants emphasized that the opening of the named auditorium was a living continuation of the story that inspires new generations of students and teachers of Satbayev University. The memory of Zheksenbek Adilov, his scientific principles and responsibility to the country's higher technical education will continue to serve as a guide for scientists and students of our university.
